Endings and New Beginnings, Part 2: Change for the Better…

Adlai Stevenson II once said, “Change is inevitable…Change for the Better is a Full-Time job.” That statement has never been more true in my life.

After embracing the ending at Community Covenant Church that The Lord had ordained, I began a new call as National Director of Congregational Vitality for the Evangelical Covenant Church. In this role, my primary responsibility is to help lead congregations forward in healthy missional change through the power of The Holy Spirit. As churches experience change, and embrace the new things that God wants to do, they will be able to reach more people for Christ, and impact more lives with the holistic, transforming power of the Gospel.

This role brings convergence to my life in ways that I have never fully experienced. I will continue to function as a pastor to many leaders seeking God’s plan for their ministries in these churches. I will continue to help congregations develop a deeper sense of call and mission in the communities they serve. And I will continue to teach, preach, and develop strategy for local mission for not just one church, but over 300 congregations in a variety of different contexts. I am excited and humbled to serve in this new role, and I covet your prayers!
